We often get asked “do solar powered pumps work at night?” And, “do solar pumps work on cloudy days?” Well, we can answer both questions with a YES when talking about the Blagdon Liberty 200 Pond or Feature Pump and LED Light. This is because the pump is unlike traditional solar-only products as it has a long-lasting, high-powered, 6 hour lithium-ion battery backup.
For optimal performance, we recommend you position this 2.5w solar panel where it will receive the maximum amount of sunlight, ideally South facing. It has a handy 5 metre cable from solar panel to pump, as well as a garden spike and wall mount to help you locate the panel away from any obstructions, in order for the battery to charge sufficiently.
It is also mains-free, which is another reason it is so popular as there are no electrical cables having to be wired in. This in turn saves on running charges and eliminates the cost of potentially having a professional install the pond pump safely for you.
Being mains-free also means you have the freedom to relocate it as you so wish. You may be wanting to help oxygenate your wildlife pond, or add that wow factor to your water feature. Or perhaps that lockdown project you created from an old butler sink could do with a fountain of moving water to make it complete.
You can also enjoy your garden feature for longer with the LED light ring, which will come to life when the sun goes down.
In the box you will also receive all the fittings to suit your preference. Control valves to regulate the flow. A pond float and anchor which will keep the fountain and led light above the ponds water level and can be used regardless of depth. Whilst the 4 fountain heads are for you to choose which jet display you enjoy the most. You can achieve heights of 1.25 metres with this solar powered pump!
Finally, there are flexible timer functions to suit your needs. Switch as you please between ‘on demand’, which runs the pump for 4 hours at a time, ‘repeat daily’, which will run for 4 hours a day from the time that you set it from, or ‘continuous’, this mode runs the pump for the maximum hours daily and will restart every morning
