Pond Conservation is the national charity dedicated to protecting the wildlife of our
freshwaters: ponds, rivers, streams, lakes, ditches and wetlands. We give advice, carry out
research, promote practical action and lobby policy makers to ensure that freshwater
wildlife and habitats have a secure future.

TODAY AND HELP PROTECT OUR PRECIOUS
FRESHWATER WILDLIFE
With support from people who care about life in freshwater we can:
• Make a difference now, by recreating clean-water ponds to provide vital refuges for
freshwater plants and animals.
• Campaign for the future so that government does more to protect freshwater wildlife.
• Help threatened freshwater species by protecting and managing important ponds,
lakes, streams and wetlands.
• Lead research to find practical solutions to the problems facing freshwater wildlife.
• Provide authoritative advice on how to make and manage ponds and other
freshwater habitats in gardens, towns and the countryside.
