NUISANCE PLANTS – THE ALIEN INVADERS!!
Plants to avoid
These plants are not
recommended as they are
invasive, non native species that
could rapidly overwhelm your
pond, replacing less vigorous
native plants.
They can also escape into the
wild, causing many problems
and considerable expense to
remove them.
• New Zealand Pigmyweed/
  (Crassula helmsii)
• Parrot’s-feather
  (Myriophyllum aquaticum)
• Water Fern (Azolla filiculoides)
• Floating Pennywort

plants into ponds in the wider
countryside.

providing habitat for your pond
creatures.
